In the SNES version, there are four other weapons aside from your club. You have the bone, the fire, the boomerang, and the stone wheel. To replenish your energy, however, you have to pick food up along the way. Also, you have to crack open the eggs that you’ll find along the way as these contain useful items such as a weapon, food, or a helpful pterodactyl for flying. Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja is pretty hard – if not for its short stages where the battles are over just as soon as they start.

Even with the challenging maps and enemies, one could finish each stage in a fraction of the time. Also, the controls could get a little awkward. In terms of graphics, however, Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja for Super Nintendo has great levels of color considering that it’s a 90’s 16-bit game. Its music and sound effects are nice and crisp, too! Overall, Joe and Mac’s adventure is something that you would enjoy during your spare time, or when you’re craving for classic SNES action games that have above average visuals and some cool music to boot.
